Born in 1967. Los Angeles CA, Rick's family moved to San Antonio in 1976. The sound of his mom's singing voice was his greatest influence and as a kid began singing to early '80's bands like REO Speedwagon and Foghat. But it was Rob Halford of Judas Priest that really hit hard. The clarity, range and power in his voice was something he hadn't heard from anybody else at the time. The tune Victim of Changes motivated Rick so much he spent countless hours working on that pitch and control. It was then Rick found his passion and direction!
Dan discovered the love of his life around the age of 14 when a 1960's Gibson Ripper was given to him by a friend who watched him continuously play air guitar. A short time later he was playing covers with his friends; Dio, Iron Maiden, etc. Bass Man Dan was born!
As time passed influences from such legends as Cliff Burton, Steve Harris, Geezer Butler to name a few help expand and shape Dan's style. It is this style that pushes Dan forward to create! Having contributed to many bands on the local and regional scene, Dan now lays the foundation for Syrus!
Syrus has seen it's fair share talented musicians come thru the fold. All have brought their own unique style and talents. Here we pay tribute to all of them, whether for a brief stint or many years of metal service.
